Sport Society Mall in Mirdif sits across the city from the Marina, and the run is a single road: Al Khail out to Mirdif, parking at the mall. Outside rush hour it takes about 35 minutes. Pick the right slot and you never sit in the worst of it.
Sunday morning is the easy one, the road out of the Marina is empty before 8:00. Tuesday and Thursday evenings run the friendly way too: you drive out of the business districts while the rush drives into them.

Sport Society Mall in Mirdif sits on the far side of the city from the Marina towers, and the route is one road: Al Khail out of the Marina, then Mirdif, with parking at the mall itself. Outside rush hour the trip takes about 35 minutes. Families who do it every week plan around the clock, not the map: Sunday at 7:30 the road is empty, and a Tuesday evening drive heads out of the business districts while everyone else heads in.
Four households from Dubai Marina and JLT registered for the 2026/27 season, and three more come from Palm Jumeirah. None of them live near Mirdif. They keep making the trip for a full-size 60x30 m sheet, a coaching program with structure to it, and teammates from 38 nations. Galaxy runs 300+ players across the academy, in official partnership with the UAE Winter Sports Federation.
The season runs 1 September to 30 June, and groups split by birth year from U6 through U16. Children start from age 4, and complete beginners are welcome: coaches start every new player on skating basics, edges and balance, before any puck work. Real physical contact does not begin until age 12 to 14, so the younger groups play a non-contact version of the game. Full protective gear covers a player head to toe, which is why hockey stays one of the safest sports a child can pick up. Skates, stick, helmet and pads wait at the rink. Bring warm clothes your child can move in and that is the whole list. A first session tells you two things at once: whether your child likes the ice, and whether the drive fits your week. Both answers cost you nothing this month, because the first session is free for one child, all September.
Term 1, September to December, costs AED 6,900. Term 2, January to March, AED 5,900. Term 3, April to June, AED 5,600. The full season is AED 17,500. Add 5% VAT to any of them. Payment covers ice time, coaching and, on the full season package, one set of match kit in each colour. Camps, tournaments and extra sessions sit outside the package. Galaxy Arena, our own rink in Oud Metha, is opening soon. Oud Metha sits well inside the city, closer to the Marina side than Mirdif is, so the drive shortens for every family reading this page. Until it opens, all training runs at Sport Society Mall in Mirdif with the same coaches and the same groups. Start now and you keep your place when the second sheet opens.
