How hockey training works at Galaxy

Every player follows a clear development path. You don't have to know where you'll end up — you just have to step on the ice. Here's how training is built in Dubai:

  • Learn to skate — the foundation. For kids and adults who've never been on ice, our coaches teach balance, edges and stops until skating feels natural.
  • Ice hockey lessons — once you can skate, you learn to play: stickhandling, passing, shooting and reading the game, in small coached groups.
  • Goalie training — specialist sessions for the most demanding position on the ice, building confidence and crease technique.
  • Competitive pathway — age-group teams (U6 through U18) that play real games, league fixtures and international tournaments, plus our adult and Warriors sides.

Our academy is led by coaches who've played and coached at the highest levels of the game. Among them, Artiom Senkevich — former Head Coach of the UAE national ice hockey team, with a playing career in the KHL and the Belarus national team.

That pedigree shapes everything on our ice: real technique, real structure, and the standards of professional hockey — passed down to every kid and adult who trains here.

Our home rink is the ice arena at Sport Society Mall, Mirdif, Dubai. It's a short drive from Mirdif City Centre and easily reached from across the city by car, taxi or ride-hail — with parking right at the mall.

And the future is bigger still: the GLXY Sport Hub, the UAE's first dual-ice arena, opens at Al Nasr Leisureland in 2026 — an NHL-size main rink plus a dedicated training surface, the new heart of hockey in the Middle East.

Do you offer private or 1:1 hockey training?+

Do you teach power skating?+
Yes — power skating is the foundation of everything we do. Coaches break down edges, crossovers, starts, stops and acceleration so players of every age move faster and more efficiently on the ice.
How often should my child train?+
Most age-group players train one to three times a week depending on their group and goals, with optional extra skills or goalie sessions. We'll recommend the right load when you come for a free first session.
